The latest edition of the BERD Bridges Bulletin is now available and features El Negro Bridge, BERD’s second modular bridges project in Chile.
Located in the remote Los Lagos Region, within Chilean Patagonia, the bridge was designed to improve connectivity between isolated communities, replacing a ferry crossing and enabling safer and more efficient access to healthcare, education and economic activity.
The project also presented significant logistical challenges, with bridge components transported by sea, road and barge to reach the final installation site.
Discover the full story behind the project, including technical details, assembly highlights and project insights in the latest edition of the newsletter.
